Back to blogging again...guess too much free time nowadays. :D

What I'd done so far:
1. Become a daddy-to-be.

2. Almost finish my Masters in Applied Finance program. (last class on this Wednesday, woohoo)

3. Read tonnes of financial news till I'm pretty confused.

Shall start my project again. - Fusion of FA and TA on Singapore listed companies.

STI charts

Just having fun with some new learnt TA stuffs.

it's a Fibo date + Fibo price thingy. guess we still have till July until the real correction kicks in. target should be at 2700. we should be at major wave 4 now, looking at the uncertainties these few weeks. if my understanding of Elliott is correct, we should see a final wave 5 till 2700.

looking at US, volume is shrinking, indicating a correction soon. regretted cut loss at 8850, almost at the highest point. FYI, I shorted S&P500 x2 with 15% losses.

So now it's STI wave 4 vs US potential correction. US should be in wave 4, judging from the nature of wave4.

I'll be staying sideline till the real show begins. No point sticking my head out again when there's not much certainty.

Will do a normal short S&P if wave 5 unfolds.

Living in interesting times

In most of the classes I'd attended, lecturers always give the quote above. Looks like the market has only bought a one way ticket - south. Walking back would be a slow process.

Stock market aside, been getting quite a lot of wedding invitations lately. As they said, that'll be an indicator that we'd reached a certain age. Sorry to those whom weddings I couldn't attend.

Meanwhile, I'll be busy mugging for my exam. Time passed really fast when you're studying and working at the same time.

Missed oppotunity

There are times when we should hope instead of fearing.

For example, this very time I missed the oppotunity to buy AMD's share at an oversold position. Knowing that nothing changed much fundamentally, it provides a good oppotunity for me to cover back my losses incurred during AMD stock purchase last year.

Since the day I decided to buy AMD but failed to (due to fear of incurring more losses and greed of wanting to make a bigger spread), it had made a big jump of whopping 50%.

Anyway, I'm thankful at least now I learnt up more about RSI,MACD and Bollinger's band during this time.

3. Doing assignments.
4. Learning up more technical indicators like Bollinger's band, RSI, MACD and candle chart readings.

Need to start mugging soon. Final exam is around the corner. :(

K9 Web Protection

If you need any filtering software for kids or yourself while you're surfing the net, my buddy recommended this.

k9webprotection

Prevention is better than cure. There are many 'predators' out there that you want to flee from. Talking about predators, I just had a weird dream of killing crocodiles earlier this week.

Back to the software. After the installation, when the program ask for admin password, ask someone to key in (and remember it) if it's for yourself. Double protection.

After you'd installed it, you might find it slightly slower when you surf. The speed will be back to normal when you surf the same site the second time. So be patient with it.

Hope it serves you well, and most importantly, it's free. :)

Fallen

Been feeling unproductive lately. Too lazy to do anything. And ya, I didn't even send out any resumes to any companies. Somehow this slothfulness really stings and cause paralysis in 2-3 weeks of my time. Felt very duo4 luo4 (liken in a fallen state).

Looking inside, I know there's some areas that I had to overcome.

As I walk through the route to the company this morning (looks like I'm getting revelations each day as I passed this particular place, uh?), I was prompted with the parable of the prodigal son.

A rebellious son, in his own rebelliousness, left the family, seeking pleasures and 'freedom' from discipline and authority. So often we viewed freedom as having our own ways ended up with a bed of roses, the reality is the bed is, yes, made of roses but it comes together with all the thorns. Now imagine sleeping on it. (Footnote)

Later part in the parable, the son had no where to go, and last resort, he thought of turning back to his father, hopefully to be accepted as a servant in his father's house. He felt shame in himself, not worthy enough, unwanted; and with all the stuffs he did last time to his father(asking for his part of inheritance is like asking for his father's death), he thought it's the best position he deserved. He was surprised to be shown grace and abundant mercy by his father.

Likewise, so often, we shower ourselves with guilt and self inflicting punishment when we fall, feeling unworthy to get back to our Heavenly Father. Truth is, when we repent and turn away from our old ways, we're shown abundant grace, abundant mercy; accepted back as a family member.

Footnote:
Romans 6: 15-23
Slaves to Righteousness
15What then? Shall we sin because we are not under law but under grace? By no means! 16Don't you know that when you offer yourselves to someone to obey him as slaves, you are slaves to the one whom you obey—whether you are slaves to sin, which leads to death, or to obedience, which leads to righteousness? 17But thanks be to God that, though you used to be slaves to sin, you wholeheartedly obeyed the form of teaching to which you were entrusted. 18You have been set free from sin and have become slaves to righteousness.

19I put this in human terms because you are weak in your natural selves. Just as you used to offer the parts of your body in slavery to impurity and to ever-increasing wickedness, so now offer them in slavery to righteousness leading to holiness. 20When you were slaves to sin, you were free from the control of righteousness. 21What benefit did you reap at that time from the things you are now ashamed of? Those things result in death! 22But now that you have been set free from sin and have become slaves to God, the benefit you reap leads to holiness, and the result is eternal life. 23For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in[b] Christ Jesus our Lord.
